Jeff, I know you directed your query to Janet, who is the definitive source on this Carrow/Smith family. However, because Janet has provided me so much information on this family, I can give you a quick confirmation to your questions, and let her fill in the details. You are correct in assuming that we are talking about the Mary Wilson, daughter of Jacob Wilson and his wife, Margaret Buchner, who married John Smith. They lived in Norfolk Co., Ontario. The children of John and Mary Smith were: 1) Margaret Smith, b. 1820, who married Joseph Carrow (my great great grandparents); 2) John Smith, who married Rachel Carrow (Janet's line); and 3) Jacob Smith.I didn't know that John and Mary Smith had a child named William who was born in 1830, but it is quite possible.I don't know when Mary Wilson Smith was born, but her husband was born in 1783, which means he would have been 43 years old when William was born.In the 19th Century, it was fairly common for people to have children in their early 40's.Please let me know if you think we are talking about the same family.
