Starting Sept. 5, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.

1940 photo of Clarence & Cleona Carroll
Posted by: Paul Peterson (ID *****2235) Date: September 25, 2012 at 15:02:28

I purchased the subject snapshot depicting a young couple and a middle-aged couple standing on a sidewalk in front of a stuccoed building. It is identified on the back:

"Les and Belle Boyabin
and Clarence and Cleona
Carroll in 1940 at
Monterey Calif.
This is the best
picture of Les Boyalin
we have that could be
used for identification purposes. It was
take shortly after
Belle and Les left
Forbestown"

Although I am unable to find the Boyabins on ancestry.com, Clarence and Cleona Carroll appear in Public Member Trees and both individuals are included in the Social Security Death Index. Clarence is listed in the 1920 Census data for Los Angeles (resided at 2623 Loosmore?), Los Angeles Co., CA; and the 1930 and 1940 Census data for Los Angeles (resided at 3302 Division Street), Los Angeles Co., CA. Clarence Melvin Carroll, born 18 Dec 1919 in Los Angeles Co., CA, died 26 Oct 2006 in Monterey Park, Los Angeles Co., CA, was the son of a building lather, Grover Cash Carroll (1892-1947) and Mary Pearl Cromeans (1899-1989). Clarence married Cleona Marie (maiden name unknown), born 12 May 1921, died 26 Aug 2009 in Los Angles Co., CA.
