This is not my line, but I have a feew notes on them. I think Elizabeth Carroll might have been the wife of Pierce Noland, and probably the parents of Nicholas Noland. They were mentioned in the Stafford and Prince William County area in the early to mid 1700s. I have a copy of a page from a book on indentures in Stafford county, which states: "10 Oct 1723, Nicholas Carroll and Elizabeth Carroll, his wife, sell land to Philip Knowland."
(In the book by Violet Noland Gray, this is spelled Nowland)
There is also further information about these people (as well as the Carters) in the book "Beginning at a White Oak" which was written about 1977 by Beth Mitchell. I have had a copy for years and love it! Included is a map of the old land divisions, a version of which is colorized and I have framed.
