i'm not sure this will help but in 1790 joseph carroll was in york co n.c.i read in a book that his family and 2 other families that were related that had come down from pennsylvania, had enough young men in the tree families to form a company in the revelotionary war.i see in 1800 that some of the boys have left home and there is a joseph and a joseph sr. something to look at.
