Thanks for posting.
I am very curious about this family.
In Kent Co. MD, an illeg. child was born ca. 1730 to Philip CARROLL and Margaret Falconer. Still trying to find out what happened to this child. Philip CARROLL was fined for having this child with her.
My family has men named Philip CARROLL SUIT and I believe they connect to the SHUTE in Philadelphia and the descendants of Rev. Joseph CARYL of England.
A man named Gyles SHUTE who lived in Cecil Co. MD (may have been from Kent Co. MD) was born prob. in the 1670's and I believe he was bro. of my ancestor, Thomas SUITE of St. Mary's Co. MD.
Gyles Shute was accused of stealing his sister-in-law's husband's horse and convicted in KENT Co. MD in 1702 and moved to Bath Co. NC after that.
He named his son PHILIP.
An earlier man ALSO named Gyles SHUTE was also a controversial religious figure in England in the mid 1600's.
He opposed baptism of children and by water from what I have read. He wrote books/book on it.
Then, Rev. Joseph CARYL (later descendants who came to Boston and Northeastern USA spelled it variously.)
Then, in England, there who married a daughter of Rev. Joseph CARYL!!! He had a son named John SHUTE who changed his named to BARRINGTON (1st Viscount BARRINGTON)
John SHUTE, Viscount BARRINGTON m. Anne DAINES.
Then, in Phila. PA we see that a man named Thos. SHUTE (who I believe was connected to Benjamin SHUTE whose wife was CARYL) had m. a woman named MARY but I don't know her nee. When Thomas SHUTE passed away, Mary remarried to a man named Randall DIENS (that I believe was DAINES and feel he was somehow related to Anne DAINES of Eng.--but sadly, I can find no info. on him except they had children named Chent, Thomas, Sarah, and Randall DIENS, Jr. (no clue what happened to any of them.)
Randall DIENS d. 15 Feb 1746/47 in Philadelphia.
Maybe this can help somehow:
15 Feb 1747-18 Feb 1747, pg H:478, (Phila. PA)
Diens, Randal. Feb. 15, 1747/8. February 18, 1747. H.478. Wf: Mary, former Husband Thos. Shute. Children: Thomas, Charles, Sarah, Chent and Randal. Stepsons: William and John Shute, Philadelphia. Exec: Geo. Oake and Attwood Shute, merchant. *Note: The will was not signed, but was reduced to writing on Feb. 15, 1747/8 by Attwood Shute from memoranda taken by him & dictated by test. Upon the affidavit of sd. witness that he heard the testator declare the same to be his will, it was admitted to be probated Feb. 18 1747.
