We are descendants ofThomas Carroll MD of Cincinnati Ohio, whose father, Edward Carroll, came to Columbriana (?) Co. Ohio from Ireland in 1801 ..He was one of 5 sons and one daughter, and his wife's (Thomas) name was Elizabeth Murray. If you are still interested, I have a letter from Eugene Carroll written to my mother the year of my birth expressing delight at my name and reminiscing about the older Carroll relatives. I would be interested to know if the Carrolls in your family were Quaker, as the ones in our family were and it is the handed down story in our family that when Thomas Carroll was killed in the battle of the Boyne in Ireland in 1690, one of his two orphaned sons was adopted by a Quaker family and that was how the faith came into the family. Hope you are stll interested in this.
