Carroll & Morgan Families - County Cork

John Carroll married Ellen Margaret Murphy around 1820 in County Cork. Two of their sons, John (b1821) and Myles (b1831) traveled separately to Australia. John jr. was transported to Hobart in 1849 on the Hyderabad following his Jan 1848 conviction in Cork for stealing 3 cows. A review of the online convict records in Tasmania indicates that John had another brother (besides Myles) Maurice and a sister Eliza. It is assumed Maurice & Eliza Carroll remained in Ireland.
John Carrol sr. probably died around 1831 based on the fact that Ellen Murphy/Carroll re-married a Henry Morgan in Cork and had a least 2 more sons, Thomas (b1832) & Henry Morgan (b1836), who also traveled to Australia.
