I do not have any info for you regarding your posting. I am interested in your Carroll line. My maiden name is Carroll and my family is from New York City. My great-grandfather, John J. Carroll b. abt 1850, arrived in NYC in 1872. His wife, Eliza Barrett, arrived in 1870 and she was from Kilkenny. They met and married in NYC abt 1875. They were naturalized in 1879. They are both buried in St. Raymond's Cemetery in the Bronx. She passed away in 1920, and John in 1924. John's parents were John Carroll and Mary Kirby. Even my father was John...may as well be John Smith! Per chance, have you come across a Carroll/Barrett or Carroll/Kirby marriage in your search? We don't know if our Carroll's are from Limerick, Cork, Dublin or perhaps even Kilkenny. I do have his naturalization papers but it only mentions Ireland, no County. I have not been able to locate my g-grandparents marriage certificate but have all of the Baptismal certificates for their children. I have everything going back to 1793 in Kilkenny for Eliza and family. The name "Carroll" is so difficult to research since it is the 23rd or 25th most common surname.
Should I come across any info on your "Michael Carroll", I will forward it on to you.
