Oscar
Seems as if we are both descended from James Carroll. My ancestor was David Carroll who married (3rd) Martha Johnson. Their youngest child was Rebecca who married George Washington Hughes, then James Harley Hughes, then Houston Hughes to me, Lydia Hughes Grimes.
What can you tell me about the parentage of James? I believe it could have been William Carroll, but have seen other suggestions. James' wife, Rhoda, moved to Dale County and lived in a house near where I was raised. In fact she is said to have died there. In the attic of the home was found an old ancestor chart that claimed William as James' father.
Anyway, can you tell me any additional information?
Lydia
