John Carroll (b: abt. 1802, d: abt. 1875) and Sarah Delany Baker (b: 12 Sep 1818, d: 26 Mar 1858) were the parents of Edward J. Carroll (b: 08 Sep 1841, d: abt. 1871). They had eight children, Edward being the oldest. Three of the children died in childhood. Sarah Baker and these three children are buried in Long Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery, just north of Kings Mountain, NC.

When Sarah died, John Carroll married Catherine Jane Neal. They had five children. All but one, Adaline, lived to adulthood. Their first child, Robert Lee Carroll, was my g-grandfather.

I haven't published anything yet, but I'm working on a genealogy/history of the Carrolls of Lincoln County prior to 1841. I've been working on it for about two years and hope to finish it within the next year.
