I am decended from this couple also.
Thomas Hennessey and Nancy Ann "Ann" Carroll came to Peterborugh, Ontario, Canada with the Peter Robinson Settlers from Fermoy, Co. Cork, Ireland in 1825.
Tax records show them there in 1826, 1827. But, in 1830 Ann is the head of the family with Thomas not present. So, we
believe that between 1827 and 1830, Thomas Hennessey died.
Ann then remarried to Patrick Flaherty, son of James Flaherty and Mary, another 1825 Reter Robinson family.
Ann and Patrick went to Geneva, Ontario Co. NY along with Thomas and Ann's sons: Patrick Hennessey and Daniel Hennessey. Thomas Hennessey and Ann Carroll's daughter, Bridget Hennessey married John Hickey, son of Johanna Hickey another 1825 Peter Robinson family. John Hickey and Bridget Hennessey went to Buffalo, NY. They were my gr. gr. grandparents.
There were Carrolls in Peterborough and there were also, other Carrolls in Geneva, NY. We are not sure of Ann's family ties. We assume that her Carroll family was from Fermoy,Cork or nearby. Flahertys were from nearby Kilworth, Cork and Hickeys were from Mallow and Doneraile, also very near Fermoy.
We'd like to find Nancy Ann Carroll's parents etc.
