Hi Charles. It has been awhile since I last heard from you. This past summer I went to North Carolina for about 5 weeks. While I was there I visited a lot of old cementaries and toke alot of pictures of graves. I have not had all of them developed yet when I do would you like a copy of them. While there I went to the court house in Clinton. I found a copy of Bertha Jane's marriage cert to Danie. It appears that when they were married his name was Daniel Washington Bass. I have a copy of it and will send it to you if you like. I could not find any record where he legally changed his name to Jackson. All of the birth cert for their children that I found have Jackson listed as the last name. I want to go back up there this spring for a couple of weeks and go to the court house in Cumberland and Harrnet Co. and see if maybe I can find any thing there. They were married in 1912 and Haywood was borned in 1913 and his birth cert has his name listed as Jackson. I have about decided that my mother and father did not really care what name they used, since on their marriage cert it listed my mother's madden name as Starling instead of Currie which is what is on her Berth Cert.

Hope to hear from you soon.
Mary Jackson
