Carol,

Don't know about an illegit son named Thomas, but do have info on a Michael Carroll, b. 1810 - 1811 Orange Co., NC, m. abt 1868 to Susan (Griffin), widow of a Confederate soldier from AR named Griffin.

There were at least three Carroll children: Moses Lee b.c 1869, Sallie b. c 1876, and Mattie b. c. 1879, all born Pike Co., AR.

He had a brother named Archimedes who lived in Sevier Co., AR. Also had a brother named Thomas. If this appears to be the same Michael Carroll, can extend lineage by two generations in exchange for more info on Michael and his descendents.

Al
