Thanks so much for the info Pat, I'll keep that in mind as I'm searching, it does look very promising.

I have no idea where to get a male Carroll for DNA testing. At this point, our only male branch of Carrolls ends with John Arthur/Arthur John Carroll b/May 1880, TX. There were several female Carrolls who had children, to bad they can't be used.
I only have possible daughters for John Arthur. I guess I'll post a query on him to see if there were any sons. Hopefully I'll be able to find male siblings of his father, Thomas, who's descendants might have contributed to the DNA tests.
