James Carroll and wife Elizabeth settled in Mifflin, Allegheny, PA bef 1800 with sons William, Daniel, and Carey along with 2 unknown daughters. The name was variously spelled Carroll, Carrol, Carrel, and Carl. James was illiterate but all his sons signed their name Carrel or Carrell. William and Daniel were both born ca: 1765 in ?. Carey was born about 1784. Both daughters were probably born ca: 1780. William died in Jefferson, Allegheny Co. in 1846, He had sons named David H., Joseph, and Carey. I believe Daniel died in Cranberry, Butler Co., PA about 1835. His sons were Alexander, William, John, and George. Alexander lived in Venango County, PA. He had sons Columbus and James. Columbus used only the name Columbia Carle. James used Carroll. Their father signed his will A.J. Carell. I am descended from James. Are any of these name familiar to anyone. If so you can visit the Carroll/Deese website on Ancestry.com
