I just saw your message about Beasley Island, NC, a year after you posted it. My maiden name was Beazley and I am descended from Oswald Beazley (note the z instead of s), who was born 1806 and died 1886 in Sparta, Caroline County, VA. A written family history states that his family was originally from Black Heath, England, and immigrated to Beasley Island, NC, and that one of his ancestors moved up to Virginia. However, no dates or names are given. We have been unable to determine who his parents were. But it is very probable that he had a sister, Elizabeth, and three brothers - Armisted, Brumfield, and Libum. All of these appear in Caroline County, Va., living in close proximity to Oswald, and their birthdates are in close proximity to Oswald's. Also, two of the men and the one woman appear on the same page of the wedding register as Oswald, and two of them used the same minister as he did.
Caroline County was pretty much destroyed during the Civil War and nearly all old records were burned. So it has made finding Oswald's parents much more difficult.
Do any of the above names sound familiar to you, or do you have ANY information that you could share about this line of the family? Also, just where is Beasley Island, N.C.? I looked at length for it, but could never determine it's exact location. I live in Texas and the distance sometimes makes research difficult.
I will certainly look forward to hearing from you.
