Dear Sara,

Thank you for your information. It is, indeed, quite helpful.

What I currently have is that Charles John Carroll was the son of Capt. Henry Carroll and Araminta Thompson. I do not have anything to confirm that Capt. Henry's middle name was James. Do you?

Charles John Carroll married Jane W. Brown. Jane had three sisters and a brother. They were the children of Agnes Hamilton and John Brown. Refer to court case of Joseph N. Burch vs. heirs of Agnes Hamilton Brown.

My research shows that Charles John Carroll and Jane Brown had seven children. John Henry; Michael B. (probably named after Charles John's brother Michael Brown); Harriet Sophia (named after Jane's sister Harriet Sophia Brown Brooke); Charles J.; Araminta who married John Brown Brooke--attorny for Brown heirs in the court case; George W. who married, in AL, the widow Lucy Jones Lockhart; and DeRosey who married, in AL, Ann Jones.

With so many generations sharing the same names, I do get mixed up. Does this match what you have?

Sincerely,
Carroll
