Clara S. Carroll O'Rourke died on September 10, 2006.

O'Rourke, Clare A. (Carroll)

O'ROURKE, CLARE A. (CARROLL), 90, homemaker, died on September 10, 2006 at Pawtuxet Village Harborside, Warwick.

She was married for 62 years to the late Clement A. O'Rourke.

Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Thomas F. and Clara S. (Degnan) Carroll and had lived in Edgewood in Cranston since 1957.

She was a graduate of Hope High School and Katharine Gibbs School in Providence where she attained high honors.

She was a devoted wife and mother, a wonderful cook and gifted pianist.

She was a Past President of the Cleary School Auxiliary in Providence and a communicant of St. Paul's Church in Edgewood.

Mrs. O'Rourke is survived by her daughter Ann (Nancy) Smith of Warwick, RI and Jupiter, FL, daughter Clare C. McNiff of Columbia, MD and daughter-in-law Hazel M. O'Rourke, wife of the late Thomas C. O'Rourke of Cranston, nine grandchildren, and sixteen great grandchildren.

Friends and family may call on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. with funeral on Wednesday at 9 a.m. from Monahan, Drabble & Sherman Funeral Home, 230 Waterman St., Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday in St. Paul's Church, One St. Paul Place, Cranston. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket.

Should friends desire, donations in her memory may be made to: Beacon Hospice, 1 Catamore Blvd., East Providence, RI.
