Heather, I'm so sorry that I'm just now (in August!) answering your letter. I didn't get a notice that someone had responded--I wish GenForum would do that consistently as they're supposed to.
I've just been told that Harvell Hardy, Richmond's brother, was the father of the 1850 Hancock Co., GA, John D. Carroll. I'll have to start looking at NC records, I think, and since I live in NC, that shouldn't be too difficult--unless he was in one of the far eastern counties.
I'm still looking for proof that John D.'s daughter, 12 yr. old Sarah in 1850, was OUR Sarah who married George Washington Denton.
