Thank you, again. That scenario makes much more sense in reconciling the relationships stated in the various documents, especially the 12 Feb 1728/29 will of James Carroll of Anne Arundel and Prince George's counties. Incidentally, I've seen the micorfilm of James' probate and his co-exec was indeed "Dr." Charles Carroll.

Do you know if enough of the Baltimore land records exist to know which Charles Carroll "and his mother" were those who gave the lot in Baltimore to James Carroll? I thought it was probably the son of the Attorney General.

In James' Will, he originally left a good deal of land to this same Charles Carroll. Then he revoked that clause (I think, since he mentioned at least 3 Charles Carrolls in his will) and left it to (in order of death) George Thorold, Peter Atwood, and Joseph Greaton. I think these three were all clergymen.

I haven't yet figured out who were the following mentioned in James' will, but I'll get to it:
"cousin Michael Taylor and hrs., 700 A. "Bin." and "cousins Edward Tully and Michael Tully's 2 sons (unnamed) and their hrs., "Hopyard."
