I have this information for Mary Clare Carroll, d/o Dr. Charles Carroll (1702-1755) of Annapolis, Maryland. and Dorothy Blake (1702-1734). Does anyone know if it is true, and/or have more infomration?
Maryland Heraldry, History of Distingished Families and Personages dated June 17, 1906 by Emily Emerson Lantz. Mary Clare Carroll MacCubbin was the sole heiress of her father (Dr. Charles Carroll) and brother Charles Carroll, Barrister whose great estate was near Baltimore. Mary's sons, Nicholas and James, became the heirs of their uncle Charles' estate upon the condition that they took their mother's maiden name of Carroll and only use the Carroll coat of arms for ever after. The transfer of the estate was done by General Assembly of MD 1783.
Thank you for any help.
