I've traced our history back to Elizabeth Cole, Born 1844 in Ontario. I believe that either her parents or grandparents were UEL's. I've only done a short trace using the net - an Aunt of mine has traced the family back to the family of Charles Carroll (of Carrollton), one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. She will be sending me a copy of research in the near future.

On the Sears end of things, I believe that we come from Hugenot refugees from France - the name being an Anglicization of Cyr. I have another relative in that family that is a geneology buff and has traced our history back to the 1500's. Funny thing - my dad's name was Robert. We're both Ontario-born, though.
