Hi...

The parents of my great great great grandmother are my brick wall. My ggg grandmother Margaret Brophy was born 14Mar1814 in Parksgrove, Co. Kilkenny, the daughter of Catherine Carroll and Andrew Henry Brophy. She had other siblings: Col. John Brophy (m. Rebecca Rawlins in U.S.?- had quite a few children), Margaret Brophy (who m. James Doyle, barrister, lived entire life in Ireland leaving no children), Thomas Brophy, and Andrew Brophy. I suspect my ggggrandmother was the last of the children as it was said that Andrew Henry Brophy, her father, died before she was born. Catherine Carroll Brophy, Margaret Brophy, and John Brophy came to America in 1828. I believe they all eventually made it to California (after a brief stay in Iowa or Missouri) around the time of the gold rush or shortly thereafter, and all eventually died in Yuba or Nevada Counties in the 1800s. Margaret Brophy married Robert Chesley Bourne (originally of Prince William Co., VA) in 1835 in Iowa (?). I have no further information about Catherine Carroll or Andrew Henry Brophy and would appreciate any new clues or leads.
