Henry S. Carroll native of PIke Co. Mo lives in Clarksville, Calumet Township..son of E.L. and Elizabeth Carroll. his mother being the daughter of Judge James Stark a soldier of the war of 1812.. His father E.L. Carroll native of Pike co. died in 1862.. Henry born June 1844 He was a soldier under Clinton B. Fisk from 1862 itl 1865 Company D.. he was serverely wounded having part of his foot shot off. He came home and was a banker. he was a president of a bank in Clarksville. he was apartner in the Vinegar works factory. he married 1872 to Lucy Clifford daugther of Captain B. P. Clifford they had one child Harry..

William H. Carroll of Buffalo Township, Pike Co. MO. a native of North carolina born November 7, 1813 in York District. his father Joseph carroll born 1781 and raised in South Carolina. his mother Isabella Henry daughter of William Henry a Rev. Soldier was in the battle of King's mountain. Joseph Carroll came to mo. in 1817 and settled near Buffalo Church. Joseph was a blacksmith by trade. his tools were the first set of tools brought to Pike co. Joseph and his wife raised eleven children. Isabella died in 1840 and Joseph died in 1860.. William H. was four when he came to missouri . He was married twice his first wife died soon after their marriage. then he married Mary Stark daughter of Judge James Stark in 1846 they had eight children together.
