Michael Carroll - KY - Civil War
Posted by: Lenore Hayes (ID *****0020) Date: July 08, 2005 at 17:30:28

I'm looking for Michael Carroll who was in the 8th KY Volunteer Calvary (Co.E) from 9.13.1862 to 9.23.1863. Also mustered into 53rd KY Volunteer Mounted Infantry (Co. c) on 9.15.1864 through 9.15.1865.

My late grandmother left me a document from the Commonweath of KY, Military Department in Frankfort verifying the Civil War service of the above mentioned, but I cannot find a link to him within the other Carrolls in my family.

My grandmother, Esther Carson, was the daughter of Frank Carson and Irene Carroll (b. 1854; d. 1923); granddaughter of William Carroll (b.1.3.1815/New Brunswick; d. 4.27.1889/probably in Utah).

Any insight or info into this Union private would be greatly appreciated.
