Carroll Family Genealogy Forum
I am not a Carroll researcher, but do have quite a few books with information on the ones who lived in Maryland, in the same areas as some of my ancestors. In the book "Pioneers of Old Monocacy" by Tracey & Dern, 1987 there is quite a bit of information and also a chart which shows a Keane Carroll, father of Daniel Carroll of Upper Marlborough I (1696-1751) who married Eleanor Darnall. Their son Daniel Carroll of Upper Marlborough II (1730-1796) married Eleanor Carroll (1732-1763) who was a descendant of Charles Carroll (The Settler, 1660-1720) who married Mary Darnall (1678-1742). This Charles Carroll was grandfather of Charles Carroll of Carrollton, The Signer, who married Mary Darnell (1749-1782).
There were several Carroll Darnell/Darnall marriages, which also adds to the confusion. Charles Carroll (the Settler) was the son of Daniel Carroll of Kings County, Ireland.
