I am trying to establish the parentage of James H. Carroll who, according to his death certificate, was born in Turtle Creek, PA, April 29, 1844 and died May 5, 1905 in McKeesport, PA. He served briefly in the Civil War from April 4, 1865 to July 7, 1865. I believe he lived most of his life in Allegheny County - South Versailles, Versailles, McKeesport. He was married to Catherine Cecelia Gallagher and their children were Hugh C.,Mary G., William D., Frances, Sarah E., and James E. Any help will be appreciated.
