I am attempting to research the ancestors of Samuel Carroll b. Dec. 1,1817 Greenbrier County, W.V. This Samuel married Elizabeth Sexton b. 1816 on Dec. 17, 1844. She bore him 2 sons, Wm.Henry & Charles Wesley (my husband's ggrandfather).Eliz.died 9 days after birth. Sam married Amanda Black, July 20,1848. In 1878 they moved to Marion, Kansas. I am aware that this Samuel has been confused with Sam the husband of Lucinda Swann. However, I have in my possession a copy of the General Index to Deeds, Etc., CAbell County, WV--Grantors. It reads: Grantors Lucinda & Samuel Carroll to Grantee James Lykins in Book 15, Page 278. Date of Inst. 1865, 305 acres on Lot 12. Ergo, Sam 7 Lucinda were alive and transacting business in 1865. In 1865 Sam & Amanda were raising their 7 Children. Your opinion please. Marilyn
