According to the ancestry.com on-line "Georgia Marriages to 1850" by Jordan Dodd, Thomas Stovall wed Mary Carroll on 31 September 1815 in Wilkinson Co, GA.
I know the Stovall lineage, but do not know parents of Mary Carroll.
the 1820 on-line census for GA has a Thomas Carrell on page 22, line 26 with the family as follows:
3 1 0 0 0 1 1 1 1 1 0 0 2 00000000 etc
I was wondering if this might be the father of Mary who would have been born circa 1792 in GA.
Thomas Stovall and Mary Carroll move to Alabama where at least 3 children are born: Sarah born circa 1822, Frances Elizabeth born circa 1832 and Mary born circa 1837. But by 1849 at least they are in Western Div, Choctaw Co, Mississippi where Thomas Avants wed Frances Elizabeth Stovall. Their first son, John Stone Avants is born 1850.
