I am a document trader & collector & currently own an authentic original document entitled "Muster Roll of a Detachment of the 6th Regiment of Infantry serving at Hd.Qtrs Second Mil. Dist., under the command of 2 Lieut Louis V. Cazina of the 11th Regiment of Infantry, from the 31st day of August, 1867 when last mustered, to the 31st day of October, 1867. The document contains the names of 1 corporal & 10 privates, one of whom is Owen C. Carroll of Co. A.

The document also contains the following paragraph signed by Eld? Sudington as Asst. Insp. Genl. Bvt. Col. U.S.A.:

This Detachment is detailed for clerical duty at Hd. Qtrs 2nd Mil. Dist. The men are not required to wear uniform or bear arms. Their appearance and bearing are satisfactory.

This document reflects the work of soldiers during the time of reconstruction - known in the South as the "occupation" of Charleston. I have a small bit of additional info as well as pics of the document I can exchange. I would like to know more about this soldier. Please e-mail me directly at
Thank you
