I am looling for family connections to Elizabeth "Betsy" Lyles born abt. Jan.1781 in Chester S. Carolina. Married to James Trussell-birth Virgina, raised in Chester. Elizabeth Died 1830 in Green Co. Alabama. In a diary written by her son James Madison Trussell Sr. he mentions that Elizabeth Lyles was related to Gov.Wm.Carroll of Tenn. one of Gen. Jacksons prominent generals. Elizabeth's mothers maiden name was Cockrel. Other relatives mentioned were Martin and Col.Wm.Lyles in regards to War of 1776. Major Auterson and also Cutbirth Price. Cutbirth Price widow Margaret Straight/Strait married one of Elizabeth's sons and she was also a distant relative of Cutbirth Price.
