Off the top of my head I don't see a connection, but I certainly think the possibility of one is worth exploring, particularly since Daniel isn't that common a name. Did any of your ancestors come to the U.S. and if so, do you know where they settled?

My great, great grandfather Daniel Carroll married a Margaret Thomas who, I believe, was Welsh, but where they met and married--Ireland, U.K. or U.S.--I don't know.

How long have you been researching and where? It sounds like you have some good resources.
