There is a very interesting site I found on the Ward family genforum, post # 10078, there is a link there for a James Hicks, seems he has done extensive research on this. When I was at the Arkansas Archives, a lady who worked there said to be careful of Goodspeed history, which I think alot of this information about John Carroll came from, she was telling me the people who the history is about would some times make it " a bit more flowery" than true, and they payed this man to write these history's. So, I keep this in the back of my mind as I search for this family. Now, I really wonder, because of the info. I found on the Starr report, and on this Hicks site. Check it out, and let me know what you think---yes this is FUN. Katy
