Hi,

My grandfather was Marvin Carroll. His father was James Carroll, James' father was William. Marvin lived and died on the farm in Union Community, Alabama. My family plot is on the top of the hill at Union Cemetary. Many of our relatives still live in the area and my uncle Roy Carroll lives beside that cemetary.

Any information you may have on Williams' ancestors would be greatly appreciated.

BTW my mother has James Carroll's Confederate discharge - he was discharged in 1864 after about 3 or 4 months of service - a broken down old man at 35 with chronic arthitis and rhuamatism - he lived to be about 95 and died when a mule kicked him. My uncle Roy who lives by the cemetary can still remember alot of stories about the family.

Later,
Jerry
