I am from Melbourne Australia.
Some of my names line up; possible connection; or not as the case may be..
I am trying to sort out two sets where the details are as follows:
The first group, parents and children, arrived in Australia in 1860 on the S Curling; don't know from where however.
John Carroll Born 1800; died Melbourne 1871; Father Redmond (mother Mary nee Foley)
Catherine Carroll Born 1806; died Melbourne 1872; Nee Barnett (Father Daniel Barnett)
Both are buried in Melbourne General Cemetery, Roman Catholic Compartment F Grave number 136.
Redmond Born 1840 M 1876 SWEENEY - Johannah
Daniel Born ????? Dead in 1871
Richard Born 1843
Michael Born 1845
Thomas Born 1849
Mary Born 1850
Patrick Born 1852
The second group, parents and children, arrived in Australia in 1871 on the Star of India; don't know from where however.
John Carroll Born 1836; Labourer; I expect to find that this John is the first son of the above John Carroll (no facts yet just circumstantial).
Margaret Welsh/Walsh Born 1839; died after 1880 Married Cork Ireland 1857
Honora Born 1859; my Great Grandmother (certain of this). Buried in Melbourne General Cemetery, Roman Catholic Compartment F Grave number 136.

Margaret Born 1865
John Born 1867
Redmond Dead in 1880; on James Birth Certificate (born between 1868 and 1871).

James Born 1880; Address as Varian Street Collingwood.
