I found your message of Black Irish interesting. I don't know any of the names you mentioned, but my grandfather, Arch Carroll b:1894,Kileen,TX s/o Drury Madison & Annette Phillips b:abt 1854,AR & 1858 TX. s/o William Henry Carroll & Lucy McDonald b: SC. had these same characteristics you mention. He had smooth dark skin and hair. My father always said his dad didn't need to shave much. This made one think he may have been part Native American. These are all interesting pieces of the past.
