John:

I have just returned from Salt Lake City where I was trying to learn more about my ancestor Rebecca Carroll who married Parker Crosby (1789-1867). Rebecca was born in NY in 1798 and died in Halcott, Greene Co., NY in 1871. I believe she was a sister of Enos Carroll, born in 1798. Rebecca and Parker lived in Roxbury, but they are buried in Halcott. They were the parents of my ancestor Sabray Crosby who married Ebenezer Ridlen in Ohio. Some of the Crosbys went to Ohio and then to Indiana and Iowa.

According to the History of Delaware County, Enos was born in Dutchess County. In the 1840 census, Parker Crosby and his brother Thomas Crosby Jr. are living very near two Strattons and Enos Carle [sic].

I could not find any information in Dutchess County records. Have you any additional information?

Thank you. Joyce
