Gloria, I have a William carroll who lived in Tallapoosa county and was in the 1850 census. His wife was named Mary ?
They had several sons of which one was Elisha who was my GGGrandfather. He was in the civil war and some of the other names seem to fit. I dont have my book on them with me but I will look and see. They are buried at Union Church in Tallapoosa County along with several of their children.
I hope this is the one.
Fred Lawrence
