Marion County, Tennessee - Carroll/Branson

I am looking for information on William M Carroll - he was allegedly born about 1770-72 in North Carolina and died abt - 1828, possibly in Marion County, Tennessee, or Georgia?. There has been a lot of false information provided by an inaccurate genealogist and I am trying to straighten it out. He is not the William Carroll from Johnston County,NC. The William M Carroll I am searching for had the following children: Mary Carroll, b-abt 1793; George Carroll, b-abt 1795; Daniel Carroll, b-abt 1801; Jacob Carroll, b-abt 1805, (m-Millie Branson); William Carroll, b-abt 1808, (m-Rebecca Branson). Jacob Carroll and William Carroll migrated to Gasconade County, Missouri with the Branson family in the mid to early 1830s. Lester Haines married Mary Carroll (some say Lester died in Marion County and Mary stayed behind for a couple years then came to Missouri with her brother Daniel - and others say Lester and Mary went with the original group - Bransons/Carrolls). George Carroll stayed in Tennessee, but his son George Carroll and uncle, Daniel Carroll followed a couple years later to Gasconade County. I need William Carroll's spouse's identity, and who his parents and siblings are?
