Florence,
I don't know if this will be of any help to you however - re: your listing for a Thomas Carroll of Montague d. 6 April 1903. I have no info on this Thomas, however there is a Montague "twp" in Lanark County, Ont., Canada.

To expand on this - I have been researching my Forde family, in the records of Lanark county, for the past three years. As a result I have found a distant family member - Samuel Ford(e) who married a Mary A. Carroll, 1 Aug. 1888, Carthage, NY. Per a Lanark Co newspaper Mary's family were residents of Carthage at that time. I have not determined who Mary's family was but suspect since Samuel was from Lanark county, that she was a part of one of the Carroll families who lived there, at least during the first half of the 1800's. Again per a newspaper, Mary had a sister Mrs. Carl Willis (haven't identified her first name) who died in 1907 in Carthage, NY. These particular Carroll's were of the Catholic faith.

"Also" I note your list includes a James Carroll b. ca 1841 m. Lovisa Carley. Once again I have no further info. on these "but" there also were Carley families in Lanark County, Ontario. So it would appear that Canada may be a clue as to where to look for some of these Jefferson county, Carroll's etc.
I am seeking a copy of Samuel Forde & Mary A. Carroll's marr so if you have a suggestion for obtaining in Jefferson county, I'd appreciate it.
