Carroll/Carrell/Caryl-Benjamin mid 1600s

Interesting, but confusing.

What records are there of this Nathaniel and his family? The reference to "the book" on Salem needs an author, title and page, as there are many books on Salem. Do these people appear in the vital records of Salem, in Winthrop's journal, or other records of the time?

Hopefully, the birthdate for Nathaniel's son Benjamin was 1670, not 1630 (9 years before his father was born).

What records exist with respect to establishing the parents of this Nathaniel?

What evidence connects this man to Benjamin Blase Caryl and his wife Elizabeth Barrows?
