Lora, I saw the note including a reference to Duncan McCarroll m. Isabella Dallas. These folks are related to me: Duncan/Isabella's son Major James Carroll b. about 1765 (thought to be Scotland, moved to Ireland, then to NC); MJC m. Rhoda Stephenson Feb 1, 1792 they had 8 children - Beedie, John, Mary, David, Reuben, Major James (Jr.), Sarah and Rebecca. MJC d. May 16, 1834 Johnston Cty, NC, Rhoda moved to Dale Cty, AL Jan 3, 1837, d. a little after Sep 20, 1858 in Ozark, buried Carroll Cemetery, Ozark. MJC, Jr. m. Penelope Kennedy 1834 in NC, MJC Jr. d. Aug 13, 1878 Ozark & buried in City Cemetery Ozark. MJC JR and Penelope had 9 children - Debro, James, Pharoah, Cader, Susan, Pennie, Sarah, Eliza and Major. Pennie m. Isaac Wilburn Byrd, my mother's grandfather. I would love to know any information you might have on the Carroll's in NC. It seems the Duncan McCarroll branch dropped the "Mc". Thanks.
