Just as a point of interest, there is also a Sterling Carroll in Moore County, NC around the same time. Could this be the same man or the same family? "Sterling" certainly isn't a common name. Also, I have Beck relative in Pickens County, SC and in Randolph Co, NC (which is just north of Moore Co). Any connections here? My Moore ancestor was Alfred. Thanks, Linda
