Francis, Thanks for your response re: Nathan Carroll. I have been to their gravesite in Springhill..I am researching Springhill Community with MAYBE compiling a book some day.My father's family was from there as well as my husband's family.
I do have lots of info on descendents of Margia Augustus Carroll, daughter of Nathan and Elizabeth, Margia being my grandmother-she married James Newton Baker. He was a Pike Co. Alabama Justice of the Peace for over 40 years. I have read Lydia's book...Pike Co. Troy is my hometown. Her theory that they were not descended from Duncan McCarroll and Isabella Dallas seems to be true..I spent April this year in the Carolinas, and in Smithfield-Johnston Co. and researched James and Rhoda Carroll. I found a scrapbook on Rhoda in Ozark, Dale Co. library.
