i have been to your site numerous. as a matter of fact i would like to thank you for posting it. it helped me tremendously.
about your samuel william carroll that was married to elizabeth sexton and amanda black
do you have any info on who his father was.
we know the samuel that married lucinda swann was a son to james tillman carroll sr
who is my ggg grandfather and if i'm not mistaken was born in 1820, samuel that is, in greenbrier or cabell county. but the samuel that married sexton-black is listed as being born in 1817 in greenbrier county. i know that james tillman sr moved his family to w/va in the early 1800's but i was just wondering if some of the other carrolls in cabell, lincoln, & greenbrier were james' brothers family or not. i have received several responses to a posting about my ggg grandpa and his son samuel stating that the two samuels are one in the same.
i'm not trying to bombard you charles, just trying to get it all as straight as possible.
i'm sure you know how it is trying to keep all this family info straight. i hope we can help each other some more.

by the way, the the lady that posted the message you responed to is my aunt(florence carroll bowman) she is now 79 years of age and not fairing to well. feel free to email me, or you can respond here. either way is fine with me. happy hunting charles and thanks.
