Yes I know that you do, and that puzzles me. The marriages of Charles Carroll of Carrollton's two daughters Mary and Catherine, (who married Caton and Harper), are very well documented in the literature. This is no secret to anyone.

But the Carroll Clan migration from Ireland to Maryland was a large Clan, and continued for a long time, and I have no doubt there were many Mary Carrolls with daughters named Emily, marrying Brits.

But Charles Carroll of Carrollton's daughter Mary Carroll definitely married Richard Caton, not Joseph Canton.
