William Carroll: 26th Arkansas Infantry
Posted by: Mark Miller Date: March 09, 2000 at 23:11:22

I am researching a soldier who enlisted in the 26th Arkansas Infantry Regiment during the Civil War. He is:

William J. Carroll Co. C Pvt/Pvt
Enlisted 12 May 1862 at Pine Bluff, Jefferson County, Arkansas; 50 miles from home. Granted
furlough 9 Aug 1862. Granted furlough 15 Mar-15 Apr 1863. Present through Feb 1864. Age
listed as 16 on 1860 Jefferson County Census; occupation, student. Born in Maryland.

I have no genealogical connection to this man but am writing a book on his regiment. Any help in learning his dates/places of birth, death, and burial would be greatly appreciated.
