CARROLL, HACKETT Ireland > NYC 1880's

Hi
My gggrandmother Lizzie (nee CARROLL) HACKETT, b. abt 1850 in Ireland, emigrated to NYC with her husband and, we believe, with or after some of her children, between 1883-1889.

Her husband Micheal/James/Patrick (different on 3 children's NYC death certs!!), didn't like NY and returned home to Ireland never to be heard from again.

Lizze and Patrick/Michael/James HACKETT's children definitely were:
--Marie (pronounced Mariah) HACKETT, b. abt 1872, my ggrandmother
--Patrick HACKETT, b. ?, served in the Spanish American War
and other children may have been
--Jane HACKETT, b. abt 1871-72
--James HACKETT, b. 1867-68
--Lizzie HACKETT b. 1869

Lizzie HACKETT's parents were John CARROLL/KYLEY (defferent on 3 certs)and Mary Quirk.

The family had a friend in NYC named Dave HIGGINS, who my mother believed the family knew in Ireland. Dave attended Trinity College/Blackrock. Could the CARROLLS/HACKETTS come from Dublin?

Hope this rings some bells out there!
Chris Sheppard
