It is just as likely that Absolom and John Carroll were the sons of Nathaniel Carroll. Nathaniel and William Jr. both bought land from William Carroll, Sr in Lincoln County, NC 1803 & 1805. Nathaniel & William were in Haywood Co, NC . 1820 & in Macon Co. 1830 & 1840. BOTH had sons that have not been sorted
out and documented. It is not known if William Jr & Nathaniel were brothers OR if William Sr. of Lincoln Co. was their father. Both died after the 1840 census, probably in Macon Co., but the date of their death and place of burial are not known. Please feel free to contact me by email. I regret that some of early undocumented research has been placed on this forum without my knowledge or permission. I had given it to a dear cousin in Oklahoma who has since passed away. I don't know the person that posted the information or how they got hold of it.
Best of Luck in your research.
Jan Davenport
