Asa Carroll states in his Civil War records that he was born in Killingly, CT. There is no vital. Also checked in Thompson, CT nothing. I have checked census records. Both Connecticut and Rhode Island are listed as birth places. Ephraim Carroll's death certificate states he was born in Providence, RI. I have written to the Rhode Island Archives and they have no record of him. Asa birth year is 1842 and Ephraim's around 1816. I found a marriage in the Westfield Congregational Church records of a Ephraim Carroll and Sarah Ann B. Chase 05 May 1841. No vital in Killingly, CT. Record states Ephraim was from Smithfield, RI. Wrote there no vital for marriage there. The 1850 census has them listed in Glocester, RI. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance for any info.
